I have been wanting to write about mist and fog for months because to me it always symbolises an analogy of when you can't see where you are going something inside you still knows the way.
I remember driving home one night in my University days and the fog had fallen incredibly thick and fast as I was coming over the hilltops. It was so thick that I could barely see the cat's eyes on the ground and I was scared to go forward in fear of hitting another car but I was scared to stop in fear of another car hitting me. Then I heard something say 'keep going, it is clear'. I knew that road like the back of my hand as I had lived in Yorkshire for over 19 years, and whilst I couldn't see all the road ahead, I could see the front of my car and so I very slowly continued forward, remembering the way home and trusting my car and my memory. 2 miles later and the fog had completely cleared.
The Mist card is often a card that I receive when using the beautiful Healing Waters Oracle Deck by Rebecca Campbell and it is usually at a time when I need a reminder to listen to my intuition, and do what I feel is right, rather than what looks right to everybody else.
We need the mist to fall so that we can listen to our intuition and this morning whilst sitting on the beach, these beautiful words flowed through me regarding this very thought.
The mist falls to cover the path
And your soul whispers
"When you don't know which turn to take
Let me guide you."
The mist falls to hide the imagined future
And your soul whispers
"When you don't know the answer
Let me guide you."
The mist falls to stop your view
And your soul whispers
"When you don't know what is next
Let me guide you."
The mist falls to protect and redirect
And your soul whispers
"When you don't understand the reason
Let me guide you."
The mist falls to make you pause your body.
The mist falls to make you feel your intuition.
The mist falls to make you hear your soul.
Pause.
Feel.
Hear.
Step forward.
As the soul guides, the mist clears, the path is shown.
It is often difficult to feel into your intuition with a dysregulated nervous system or if it is something that you are not regularly used to doing so if you need help navigating your intuition and your inner compass then please do get in touch.
